Twig

Every branch knows
its next step.

On your mind: a weekend trip, growing tomatoes or learning Spanish. Write it down and break it into small steps. Twig keeps each one’s next step in view, so you always know where to start.

12 loose thoughts, captured. One tap finds your next step.

You don’t need
the whole plan.

Just a place to begin. One thought becomes a few small steps. Let’s make a weekend of it.

you’re putting off.

Name it, then list what it takes, a line each. Two spaces at the start tuck a line inside the one above.

Weekend trip says 1 of 5 done. Ask why, and Twig shows you exactly what it counted.

Why 1 of 5?

Counted: the tasks with no tasks inside them, so nothing is counted twice.

  • Check the forecast Done
  • Book the campsite To do
  • Tent To do · in Pack
  • Rain jacket To do · in Pack
  • Borrow a cooler To do

Where your cards
are saved.

Start in your browser. Take your ideas with you when you’re ready.

Twig in a computer’s browser: the box, Saved on this device, Your next step, Check the forecast, and the weekend trip
  • In this browser, on this device. Twig saves your cards in this browser as you work. No account, nothing to install. Another browser or device won’t see them unless you sign in.
  • In your account too, if you sign in. Signing in is optional: use Google or a link sent to your email. Your cards then sync between the devices you sign in on, and with Google Calendar if you connect it.
  • In a backup file, whenever you like. Export backup saves all your cards to a file. Import backup brings them back, and asks before it replaces anything.
  • On your phone too, even offline. Open Twig in your phone’s browser and add it to your home screen, and it opens like an app. It keeps working without a connection.Twig on a phone: the weekend trip on Home, and the bar with its plus button

Questions people ask
before they start.

Is Twig for notes or for tasks?

Both. A card can be a thought, a note or a task, and hold smaller cards. Your ideas and what you’ll do about them stay together.

How do I turn a big idea into steps?

Open it and choose Break it down. Write the steps a line each, and you’ll see the cards before they’re added.

What else can Twig keep?

Habits that repeat every day or a few times a week, with your run and your best. A note for each day, week and month, with that day’s cards. And how long each step takes, with your day laid out by the hour.

Does Twig use AI?

Not built in. If you already use an assistant like Claude or ChatGPT, you can connect it: it reads your cards, changes them only if you let it, and what it reads becomes part of your chat with it. Disconnect it whenever you like.

Who makes Twig, and what does it cost?

Twig is free to use, and there’s no paid plan. Its maker is also its first user. You don’t need an account either: open it and start.

Does Twig show ads or sell my data?

No. Twig has no ads and no analytics, and doesn’t sell or share your data. The privacy page says what an account keeps, where, and how to delete it.

Start with one thought.

There’s no perfect place to start. The rest can grow from there.
